hey all,

My girlfriend just got an 05 scion TC which is a beautiful little car. I can't wait to make the paint shine.

Its official color is flint mica. its a deep silver/grey metalic color, not quite black but not quite silver.

I want to make it look shiny and like a reflective pool and also give it some extra protection as it is a daily driver that is never garaged.

I am sorta new to the latest products so any advice would be helpful.

thanks

jake,

Do you want to buy locally or online?
How much do you want to spend?
How much effort do you want to put into it?
Is the paint in good condition......... any swirls?
Will the vehicle be garage kept or daily driver?
I'm still confused on the color........ light or dark?

Sorry for all the questions, but we need to narrow it down! :D

Would prefer to buy locally, but will buy online if needed
I think around 100 bucks would be sufficient to take care of my accord and the scion
I have detailed cars before so I know what kind of effort is needed, 100% or none!
Paint is in immaculate condition. zero swirls
The scion is a daily driver and probably never garaged.
heres a link to the color, its the flint mica one:

I have all the necessities ie. mf's, rotary, random orbit polisher, applicators, wash technique is good, just need some advice on proper care for a immaculate paint job on a dark car that will look awesome.

sorry for the long post :D

Meguiar's ColorX topped with Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax.
Available locally.
Quick & easy.
Looks great.

My process is:
Swirl remover a couple of times a year or as needed.
Klasse AIO every 3 to 4 months.
4 Star UPP every month.
Available on-line.
Quick & easy.
Looks Wow!

You now have a couple of choices out of the literally hundreds that are available.

The Wolfgang paint sealant and pre-wax enhancer. Here's some of the products that I'm currently using:
For outside
Wolfgang paint Sealant &
Pre-wax Enhancer

To clean tires and rims I like to use
Detailer's Pride Gel Wheel Cleaner
To condition my tires I used the Pinnacle Black Onyx This product will not turn your tires brown and is not too glossy.

For the interior like the dash I like 303 aerospace protectant

Also you may want to get a can of wurth rubber care this will remove wax residue and recondition molding. This is definitely a must have, after years of trying different products, I have to say this is the easiest for removing wax off moldings.

Clay the car first
Vanilla Moose hand Glaze on PC at 5K
Then either 4* UPP or PB's EX..

Follow up daily with your favorite detail spray ..done.
