Hey guys... I just got this zaino total kit from zaino.ca (yes i live in canada)

I have just worked around a little with this kit. (followed zaino application method on the web)

let me just quickly go over what i have done today.

1. I have no garage (living in apartment) so i went to self car wash. (coin car wash)

2. using yellow sponge , washed car with dish detergent (palmolive) and rinsed with water and dried with towels.

3. using the z18 clay + watered z7 (It was my first time and I was so amazed with it) smoothened entire painted surfaces.

4. using watered z7 + yellow sponge, washed (rubbed) entire car and rinsed with water and dried with towels.

5. z5 (about 1/3 of that zfx bottle) + zfx (3~4 drops) applicated with lightly misted applicator (that 314 one) on entire car.

6. waited about 30min and buffed.

7. applicated z6 and wiped.

NOW questions!!!

1 . it was little above 60 degree (air temperature) and little windy during the

applicationof z5, should i have waited more than 30 min?

2. was my application method of z7 correct? (spray watered z7 and rub with yellow sponge and rinse with water)

3. I am planning to do some work with Scratch X, and was wondering if i could just do it on the layers of z2,z5 or if i have to wash spot with either dish detergent or z7 to remove layers b4 applying Scratch X.

4. I am planning to apply more layers of z5 (prolly 2~3) tomorrow, should I go with z5+ZFX ? or just z5? and after this, if i want to apply z2 (1~2 layers), shoudl I go with ZFXed z2? or z2 alone?

5. for z2,z5, and z6.. do I have to use different towels for wiping?

there may be more questions but these are what I can remember for now.

Thank you and Happy detailing~

ZFX is only needed for the first layer unless you want to do 2 or more coats in one day. 30 minutes was proabably enough time as long as you didn't experience streaking issues. If you did just do a Z6 wipedown. Roughly 1/2 ounce per vehicle/per coat.

As long as it passes the finger test you are fine. If you rub a stright line and the Z5 comes off with ease without and smearing, its good to go

2. was my application method of z7 correct? (spray watered z7 and rub with yellow sponge and rinse with water)

Z7 is just soap, there is no special method of applying it. I would invest in a better wash mitt. I can't imagine a yellow sponge is the best way to do it. http://www.eshine.ca sells Microfiber wash mitts.. i just bought 2 (getting them on tuesday)

3. I am planning to do some work with Scratch X, and was wondering if i could just do it on the layers of z2,z5 or if i have to wash spot with either dish detergent or z7 to remove layers b4 applying Scratch X.

I'm not sure on this one. I personally am going with Z-PC Fusion over the Scratch-X. I plan on doing it at the beginning of the process. Now having said that, don't use scratch X on the whole car, if you have a few spots to use it on, just prep, scratch-x, and re-seal that area when you're done.

4. I am planning to apply more layers of z5 (prolly 2~3) tomorrow, should I go with z5+ZFX ? or just z5? and after this, if i want to apply z2 (1~2 layers), shoudl I go with ZFXed z2? or z2 alone?

the purpose of the ZFX is to allow it to cure faster (30 mins with zfx, 24 hours without). If you are apply 2-3 coats on a given day, ZFX is a must. From my reading, some people don't use ZFX on the very last coat. But if you still have some Z2 + ZFX in a bottle, you dont' throw it away, it doesn't hurt anything by using it. The idea is, if you don't have any left for the last coat, don't mix more zfx, just use straight z2.

5. for z2,z5, and z6.. do I have to use different towels for wiping?

It's a good idea to use a clean towel for each application. I would at least use a different towel with z6 and with z5/z2. I would also invest in some quality Microfiber towels. I purchased the MF Tornado towels from http://www.eshine.ca

Check the Canadian section for more places to shop, but eshine seems to be on the top of most peoples list.
