Help with small gashes on bumper

here are some photos of gashes from the rear bumper of my GF's bimmer. Their go all the way to the plastic and in some cases, even cut through the plastic

I plan to sand the gashes flat and then use a primer and some BMW touch-up paint. Not sure if it's possible to totally repair the damage by myself, but i'm try. BUyin a new bumper costs too much.

The second picture down, beleive it or not I have fixed something like that before. I backed into a small metal trash can, they are usally full size but this was a mini and was under my line of sight from the rear view mirror.

All I did was use SMR on the affected spot. I am not saying you couldn't see it at all but if I didn't say anything you wouldn't notice, it was that good. My bumper (my saturn) had the scrape down to the white of the bumper like yours, it was a red car.

I would give the SMR a shot, you have nothing to lose.

Dude, you are going to need to have that repaired by a mobile bumper repair person, or a body shop. Mobile person would be ALOT cheaper. It is going to have to be wet sanded, filled, primed, sealed , and painted. I do this as a add on to my detailing, and around here the going rate retail for that bumper is about 175.00.

Your talking about the entire bumper right?

I know the shops around here that do pretty darn good body work would strip the entire bumper, sand, primer, paint and add clearcoat to it. I don't know about the black plastic, there is a 75% they would add a new one in for that price.

175.00 is kind of steep to just have the blemish's fixed.

Yes! The ENTIRE bumper! I had a friend with a 95 protege, that had a scuff and some bug damage on the front bumper, and the local body shop gave him an estimate for his insurance of 476.00 to repair and repaint the entire bumper, and would keep the car 3 days. I fixed it in 2 hours, and charged him 150.00.
