Help with paint correction

Will post pics tomorrow when I can get some good sun shots....

As for the questions. Yesterday I spent about 4 1/2 hours polishing my car, 2005.5 Audi A4, Dolphin Grey Metallic.

The car was very swirled when I started and I would say when I finished it looked about 50% better. I was using my PC with IP and Orange pad first. I then switched to the white pad with the Micro Polish, and sealed with the FMJ. It did seem to take out some of the swirling, but I still have some it it, just not as bad, like I said 50%. Do you think I need to try multiple passes with the IP and Orange pad, or move up to a more aggressive pad like the yellow one? I was hoping to get to about 90%, if that is possible with the PC. It was my first time using it, and I did a lot of research before using it, and think it went fairly well. I never really used much pressure on the machine, do you think I need to apply more pressure?

Any help is appreciated. BTW that IP dusted like crazy as well. If I want to attempt this again to try and correct it again will I need to clay again since I put the FMJ on there?

Thanks

Shawn

I can chime in just a tad here, but others will elaborate more...I own a 2005 Audi as well, and I purchased SIP and 106ff for this reason alone. Audi's have really hard clear coats, so you need something designed for them.(you dont really, just makes the job easier) It had and for MANY other users. You said you didn't apply much pressure...that could have been your problem...or you were moving too fast. Speed varies from each person but i move at about 1" per 2-4 sec. If all else fails, invest in SIP and some 4" LC pads...they correct alot faster than a 5.5" or 6.5" pad!

Hope it helps alittle!
