Help with lighting placement

I have the lights linked already, otherwise I would have sprung for the lights you posted. I have looked at the layout thread before and nothing seems to be consistent, now my head is spinning and not sure where to even start!

Also, this will be my detailing only spot - so lighting specifically for detailing is necessary.

I figured you`d seen them but just wanted to be sure. ;)

Given the width of that stall I think you may be fine with just 2 rows, but your ceilings are pretty high and the fixture are 3200 lumens. You also don`t have a wall on the one side for the light to reflect off of. Let me plug it into a free online lighting software to get a general idea of what ft candles they would produce.

Thank you sir! I am not opposed to using fixtures on either (or both) walls down low if necessary.

For general overhead work lighting 3 rows of 4 lights looks like it would light the space very well (about 84 fc), but you wouldn`t have much light on the sides so I`m not sure what to suggest there. I think you`d be bumping into them if you had them hanging on the walls down low.

FWIW I don`t know if I`m using this online tool correctly and it doesn`t have you exact lights you bought so I just used T8`s and adjusted the lumens.

Fair enough. I might just mount the 3 rows of 4 and use a portable light on the sides if necessary.

Edit - no need for cross lighting?

I believe that would offer more even lighting distribution based on the images in the layout thread. I added them in my shop to get more light in the front and back of the car when I`m working on one. I`d load the image of your layout but either Photobucket or my work network is being dumb right now. :/

Thanks, looking forward to the picture when you are able.

Updated first post with actual ceiling height. Went off the plot plan, apparently that was another thing the builder screwed up on! 14` down to 10` 8"
