Help with hot, sticky gum

Its about 95 degrees in these parts and some @sshole spit their gum onto the ground. I stepped in it and tracked it into the car - long strings of it.



Its on the body under the door, on the floor mat, the pedals and the plastic down below.



What's the best way to deal with it?

I took a can of compressed air, turned it upside down, and sprayed the gum with it, which pretty much froze it. i've been able to pick most of it off.



I don't think that it harmed the paint. I'll reserve final judgment until I wash it.
