Help With G/F's Neon

I plan to detail my g/f's 2000 Neon, dark orangeish metallic color, within the next week or so. She lives on a dirt road and the car stays outside at all times, and the paint isn't in the best shape. Before she met me, her can had never been waxed in the 2 years she has owned it, and when they washed the car, they didn't dry it down. Her dad thinks that waxing a car is useless and it results in too much work. I dont have a PC or anything similar to do a top notch job on it, but I do have the Wolfgang twins, Scratch X, and NXT. Should I apply 2 coats of the Wolfgang paint polish/cleaner? Also, since it sleeps outside all the time, which would be be better and have longer durability, NXT or Wolfgang paint sealant? Thanks!
 
Wash, then apply the Wolfgang polish/cleaner (1 coat). I then would used the Wolfgang Paint Sealant.
 
I did clay part of it last time I waxed it, but that was several months ago. I did forget to list Claymagic claybar as part of my arsonel.
 
i would definatley clay the car. try to get some polishing in, and then use the WG



i love the WG, 5 months strong on 4 coats :xyxthumbs

Good to hear that! I just applied 2 coats of WG to my C5 over a period of a couple weeks (due to weather) and topped it with S100 :cool:



edit...back to claying....is there a trick to claying to prevent marring? I noticed some marring on my C5 after using the Claymagic clay I bought from autozone. I used lots of lub too....almost the entire bottle!
 
use LOTS AND LOTS OF LUBE if u run out make more with carwash soap that u use and water simple as that make sure to work the clay when it becomes dirty to get to a fresh clean part of clay when the peice becomes too dirty or you drop it throw it away and get a new peice of clay that will help

How do I know when its too dirty?
 
just look at it whenever you are working with it it will get darker and not look like new when its dirty the only clay ive used was claybar and it was blue so u could see the dirt very easily
