Help with faded fabric top?????

I posted about this almost a year ago but not much help, searched around and saw others post about it as well but seems like nobody knows since their post went unanswered. We have a silver Lincoln Towncar that has a red fabric carriage top, it's gotten faded and don't know what to use. I have Raggtop and 303 for fabric tops etc, but those are cleaners and protectant.

Does anybody know what can be used to restore the darker red look it used to have? Only thing I can find is Renovo but that is for black fabric tops. Seems everyone only makes stuff for black (faded black trim, faded black vinyl, faded black fabric etc) but not for other colors?

it sound like the only choices are replace the fabric or dye it

I would talk to places that do convertable tops or people that

refurbish furniture...sory I can't be of more help

Yup, but same thing they'll only do black. There has got to be a way to restore the top, anybody else know of anything???? All I keep finding is stuff for black.

unless it's actually just dirty, I would think it would have to be redyed if it's faded. There's gotta be dye out there you could try. It's used all the time for restorations, though I've never heard of it being tried on a top before.

Yeh that's whats driving me nutz, found plenty of stuff for black but there's other colored tops so what do people use?

I have to call them, I tried Renovo and they were very helpful butt they said the thing is with colors like red, the pigment is unstable (doesn't last long, hard to get even coloring etc compared to black, or blue for example). I wa sure my top is fabric, but he said to check with Lincoln as it could be a vinyl canvas that looks like a fabric, I didn't think it was b/c I remember the old Lincolns that had a vinyl top that literally looked like vinyl/leather. So I'll call Lincoln as well and ask.

SEM is the dye that most use. I don't know if it would last, but it might be worth a try. They have all kinds of colors I think.
