I ve just recently purchased a 4 month old carbon black BMW 5 series, the paintwork has several scratches and lots of swirls all over.

I have at my disposal SSR1 ,SSR2,and SSR2.5.

What will i be better off using and in what order,i can apply by hand or machine?

I want the car to look its best if possible ,ive also got EXP and NATTYS WAX

By hand sounds like you will have you work cut out.

I would start off with the SSR 2 with a polishing pad by PC and see if it improves things, if not you will have to up to the 2.5. If this is the case you may need to follow the 2.5 up with the SSR 1 if you get any minor hazing that need removing.

Once swirl free EX and Nattys will look great on the Black. I would do EX x 2 24 hours apart ( by hand or PC up to you) and then top with the Nattys.

it's hard to say exactly without seeing some pics of the extent of the swirls but to be conservative start with ssr2.5 with a polishing pad with a pc. do a pass or two and check your work between passes. if you dont seen much of any improvement with the swirls, move to a light cutting pad. if the swirling is bad, you'll want to make doubly sure to be patient with the pc and you may need 3-4 passes. you'll most likely (esp since the car is black and any residual hazing or marring will be more noticeable) want to come back with ssr1 on a polishing pad. after that the paint should be looking great. seal it up with exp (2 coats is better). for maximum effect top with natty's although that's not necessary.

EDIT: i didn't notice that you had ssr2 as well. ya you might give that a go with the polishing pad before ssr2.5. if the swirling is not too bad then it might be enough. good luck!

As has already been said SSR 2 would be a good starting point, but 2.5 might well be needed (IMHO) BTW Carbon Black is the bluest black I've ever seen!

You will probly have to use the PC and a cutting or polishing pas with SSR 2.5 but I would do SSR 2 first and the EX-P with Nattys over it would look great. I would also recommend looking at Pinnacle Souveran. It is expensive but you will be amazed at how great the paint looks after you apply it IMO.
