Help with a budget shine..

wytstang

I see you.....
Hi there,

I have a 95 white gt mustang with somewhat dull paint, the former owner didn't care for it to well. I've had the car for about 4 years and it sits out side 24/7 365 days in the South Florida sun. I've been trolling through the forums for about 2 weeks and I have learned a lot. My plan is to clay bar it then AIO topped with #16 (thank god I found this place before #16 is no more got 5 cans from SM great place). I use Blue Corral car wash soap and the absorber to dry it off. I also purchased MF towels from exceldetaling (they were on clearence and they ship very fast 3 days from Cali to S. FL. :xyxthumbs ). I really can't afford to buy really $$ items at this time so am I missing anything for is my budget shine o.k.? Any and ALL opinion welcomed thanks for any help :xyxthumbs

AIO + #16 should look pretty good, and be reasonably durable in the hot FL climate.

I would suggest a MF WW towel from ExcelDetail as well, to replace the Absorber.

MF WW from exceldetail check, yeah I figured the "absorber" wasn't the best thing after reading though some of the other threads.

Those aren't WW towels. Those are for removing products like waxes or polishes and stuff. But don't worry, I have over 40 of those MFs, and they are great. You didn't waste your money or anything.

The WWs are the big towels for drying. I think they're 24x30 or something. There's two different blue ones...the Pacific Blue and the Monterey.

Yeah I purchased them for removing the wax/polish. Then you recomended a WW to replace the 'absorber' so I checked that off. Am I missing anything else? Thanks for your input so far..

You may want to get 2 WWs. I typically use one to absorb most of the water, and then go over the car again with the 2nd one.

And while you're shopping at ExcelDetail, you should order some FourStar Ultimate Paint Protection (UPP).

You can see my website for pictures of my white car with various combos.

Good luck with your white car. :wavey

O.K. two it is, thank so much for your help. Do you have a link to your web page I don't see it in your sig???

I gave one to my dad so I really only have 4 I'm actaully thinking of buying two more cans in about two weeks. The only way I would sell them is for $100 o.k. maybe $50 I'm not that greedy :D

I think you have a sound plan there (especially the part about holding out for $50 for a can of #16 :) )

The one caveat I would throw in is that AIO should be great as long as you don't have a lot of heavy swirls, scratches or etching. If you do you'll have to squeeze something more aggressive between the clay and AIO steps. I usually suggest ScratchX for hand application.
