Help wanted for new business (oversea...)

Ok, this topic is rather "fragile" because there is money involved but here it is :

For the past year, I surfed the net, browsed forums and looked for info about serious detailing.

Here in Belgium, car detailing like you guys do is not as normal...

The best is a rather "basic" detail at a carwash, there are some "detailers" here, name not worthy, they do also at-your-house-service but this is more a polish-until-it-shine-and-go.

I started up my own business (aside from my main job), with all the correct papers and so...

I also collected in the past year several products from Autopia and Autogeek :

Towels, mf's, brushes, a PC, several polishes, waxes and sealants (SSR, SFX, Optimum, Klasse, MEguiars.....)

But now it's time to do things more proffesional and order a large bunch of products :

I'm thinking of Poorboy's SSR 1, 2.5, Optimum, ....

Several botlles or gallons so I have enough for the following year for all kinds of detail jobs.

The problem is this :

First of all, the amount, it will be a total of more then 1000 $

Second shipping, it's not simple to ship a package of 30+ kg's over the air.

Are there (online) shop's that give discounts for big orders ?

Are there autopians that come over and are willing to take such a large order with them ?

My last order was from autogeek, about 150 $, it took 3 weeks to arrive and I'm a litlle afraid that for such a large order (30+ kg), customs will do more difficult then neccesary.

All tips about those things are welcome !

hi wally,

I am in the same type of predicament. Even though Guam is a US territory, they charge us international shipping charges. This is what I am doing to combat the shipping problems. I wrote down what I NEEDED in the order of importance. I then searched the whole island to see if I could find some of the products. Sometimes it is best to find a source for your products locally at first, it will save you some money in shipping. Things that you can't find locally, order them in bulk but try separating the packages. When I order stuff.......I make one initial order and the make another order one or two days later, smaller boxes for some reason ship faster to Guam. I know for a fact that you could order optimum products by the bulk and your first intial order might be expensive, but try having the products shipped by an forwarding company. Items shipped by boat usually takes 2 weeks to arrive on Guam and it is dramatically cheaper. hope this helps.

Wally, don´t buy the SSR-line. Go for Menzerna, easier and cheaper to ship from Germany. And IMO much better products.

PO34S

PO91L

PO85RD

With these products you can do anything, but I would also add the PO85U just a little less cut then PO91L but higher gloss. A perfect one stepper.
