Help to REMOVE painted pinstripe

i let it sit for 20 min and use towel trying to get it off first. Well some kinda got off but it still kinda hard. Since i got access to a bodyshop, i know they can fix whatever i mess up. So than i spray again let it sit and use a sanding grit and sand it off with the oven spray. At the end, there is alot of stretch in a complete line where the pinstrip use to be from the grit i use( not fine enough) so i took it to the body shop and let the guy use compound and a wool pad. But the paint guy told me that , if you try to use a wool pad and compound trying to buff your car, the pinstrip might get off.. Now you can't even tell if i have pinstrip before..I HOpe this help.

so im wondering if you put the oven off ONLY on the stripe? or just dabbed it over the stripe and onto the clearcoat as well. Id be afraid that the Ovenoff will strip the clearcoat if it gets on there.

I have completely tooken off the ugly painted pinstripe. I use the oven spray and let it sit for 15min but i still need to sand it off since the oven only help soften the pinstripe. Than i use compound and buff it up.

Makes you wonder how much of the clear coat has been affected by this process.

It look good, as far i can tell. I rather have my clear coat gone than having to live with the pinstrip. i am pretty young and i drive a lexus is350, with the pinstrip on, it really make me and the car look old and non sporty. I did wonder about the same question about my the clearcoat but the paint guy didn't mention anything about it being gone.

Well to let others know how I did it:

1. PC with Sonus buffing pad kit (orange, blue, green, bonnets)

2. 1500 3m wet sandpaper

3. 3m Rubbing Compound (1500 grit level)

4. Klasse

Some of the painted pinstripe would come off with the orange (most abrasive) pad, and the 3m rubbing compound, but it took too long.

I went with the 1500grit wetsand, and the lines came off with 3-5 rubs, in other words, with very little effort.

With the hazed surface, I ran the green pad with the 3m RC and buffed most of it down.

Then with the green pad, I ran Klasse All in one.

Last, Blue pad with Klasse polish.

Looks perfect, no notching in the paint, cant tell it was ever there.

I found this MUCH better than putting oven off on the paint, or some of the other suggested methods here.
