Help !!! Sony Digital Camera choice

Clean Dean

Keep it clean !!!
My DSC-707 is being sold because of a defective flash, and my DSC U-30 just does not deliver the results I want (and only 2 Megapixels). I am looking at the following and would like to have some input about whats the best choice.

Thanks.

DSC V1
DSC W1 ( brother-in-law ownes)
DSC p-100
DSC P-150
DSC 828

All vary in price between $350 to $900 and all have Carl Zeiss lenses. What do you think delivers the most bang for the buck ???

Dean:

You've seen my pics. I use the Sony MVC-CD300. It was $1000 when I got it, but they are about $300 or so on ebay now.

You have to learn how to play around with the settings (app, shutter, fstop, etc) to get the picture you want, but once you do the results speak for themselves :)

MattZ28, Jaredpointer, Thanks for the great links !!!

MattZ28: Leaning toward either the W1 or V1. Thanks.

The Chee I still have a 128 & 64.

GSRstilez: I had the MVC-350 and I bought it as a floor model at Circuit City. I paid under $200 and I bought the DSC-707 about a week later. I could not beat the price I got on the DSC-707 !!! I put the MVC-350 on ebay a short time later and got $365 and positive feedback to boot !!!

Should have kept the MVC-350, it was a great camera, but took quite a bit of time between shots .

I ask about the memory because you might find 128Mb puny when you get yourself eg a 5Mp camera, don't forget the extra cost . Don't forget to read up reviews on dpreview.com, dcresource etc ;). Happy hunting :)

Go with the W1, seems like the camera I would chose.

To bad you didn't start this thread 2 weeks ago, the V1 was 299 @ Ritz.
