Hello,

I was detailing a black Toyota Camry today and after washing, claying, washing the polishing, there are small white pits in the paint. The pits were there before but not noticeable until the white polish got into them. Now there are a ton of them on the hood! Is there any way to get them out? Do you think they will go away when the white polish washes away. I tried washing again and also buffing them out but nothing works. Any help wold be appreciated!

Yeah I think they are rock or sand chips but they weren't as visible before I polished it. Now it seems as though the polish has gotten into every little tiny chip and I can't get it out. It looks like a bunch of white dots everywhere on the hood. It's pretty horrible.

No just the hood and trunk lid where I polished. I'm thinking of getting one of those chip repair crayons and seeing if that works at all to conceal them.

I had the *exact* same problem on my mom's car; IPA wipe-down didn't work for me. Since her car is black, I bought the TW Black Box (it has black dye) and it covered the holes with black. I know this isn't the most 'autopian' way of doing things, it's just my way of dealing with this unfortunate situation.

That panel has been polished?

Just one pass with a cutting pad and polishing compound. I noticed the white dots after that and washed it. I'll try the IPA wipedown tomorrow and see what happens. Thanks!

You might need an IPA spritz to dissolve the residue, with a followup spray from a pressure washer to get the stuff out. I have some of it, it's a *****.

It looks like a bad repaint with tons of fish eyes, you wouldn't have that many rock chips on your trunk. Unless if the car was in a hail storm.
