Help removing baked on mud from vinyl top?

After four wheeling, a co-worker of mine let the mud bake into his vinyl top for 3 weeks. He's tried scrubbing it with over the counter vinyl cleaner, carpet cleaner, and APC, but still has not been able to get it all off. Is there anything else we can try to remove the mud stains? I have some Meguiar's APC, but I don't know if that would make a difference. Should/Can he dye the top?
