Save your money. Don't go out and get a "budget" polisher. Those suck and won't give you the results you're looking for.

The one you want is the Porter Cable 7424/7336 orbital polisher. There are lots of places to buy one:

http://www.autogeek.net

http://www.coastaltool.com

Or you can get the same exact thing from Meguiars under the G100 name for an extra $50 or more

100% agree. A PC is a great tool which you will not regret buying :up

Lowe's has it for $109, but I bought mine when they had a 20% off sale on all tools, roughly $88. Pads and a velcro backing plate will run about $50 to start. If the link doesn't work The Porter Cable 7336SP is under Lowe's part number 51472, search for it on their website. Mine came with the 6" counterweight and the cheap foam pad that vibrates your arms off you chest.

i own both of these and love them both........(CAUTION!!!! will build your forearms!!!! :) (heavy))

click me!!!

and for the UK click me!!!

how many people have seen these ACTUAL orbitals? there only source is in south florida, ive been using these now for 13 years and love them. :bow :buffing:

.................................... :har:

also a quote from there web site...."Gem Orbitals are the choice of professional detailers and built to run 8 hours a day, seven days a week. "

What do you mean ACTUAL orbitals? Are you saying that the Gem orbital has a different motion than the PC 7424/7336?

Those are heavy, and they don't offer as wide of a range in speeds as the PC does.

That 14/16 pound beast wouldn't be my choice! I'm on the quest for lighter is better. Get yourself a PC man!

wuss!! hehe j/k.......the weight of the buffer actually helps "get" your product into the paint better with absolutly no heat at all there for no way possible to create swirls.........if you are weak this is NOT a product for you!!!!!!

also like i said i have BOTH the 14 AND the 16 and LOVE them!!!!!

The heat is caused by the friction of the pad against the surface. If the pad is moving, there is going to be heat produced. The more weight on the pad, the more friction it has to overcome in order to spin/oscillate.
