Help Needed - Clearcoat Peeling - Tampa | Clearwater FL Area

I would say so. From the pictures I've seen of it I'd say it is definatly worth the price. I use the lower cost Paste Glaz because my cars are light colored and it works great. There are some really good reviews in the Product Review Archive on both products. I'd say go for it if you have a dark car and want it to look really good. :xyxthumbs
 
I was able to pick up Souveran when a price war broke out. If you have money burning a hole in your pocket go for it. It is a great product.



Is durability a question, then maybe try Blitz first. Souveran is trim friendly, Blitz will leave a residue if not careful.



I have Paste glaze as well, I almost prefer that to Souveran, bit cheaper as well.



Is the car inside our out, do you want to put it on often or not?



Some questions to consider.
 
if you consider that you can get, as a guess, maybe 20 or 30 applications out of a single jar - it isn't all that expensive. I also got mine when the price war broke out - if that is what it was - but I suspect when it runs out I'll ante up and buy some more.

Strengths:

1) easiest product to apply and buff out I've ever used

2) absolutely gorgeous deep, wet look.

3) smells good

Weaknesses

1) Leaves white residue.

OK, call it a disgruntled distributor.



I will probably not be resupplying.



I was a bit surprised by the white residue, very minor, considering I get no residue with the PPG.



Good point about it lasting awhile.

I bought it as part of CMA's complete kit. Best wax I have ever tried with respect to everything but longevity. I can't comment on that because the M5 that I have applied it to doesn't see inclement weather, is always garaged and gets waxed just for the heck of it. I picked it as opposed to PPG because I thought Souveran was or is their best wax. I doubt it is 4x or 3x better than other waxes but I just wanted to try it. Carguy's pic's and comments pushed me over the edge, again. Thanks Greg!

Carguy, Likecars, can you tell me a little more about the white residue you guys are getting? I don't seem to notice residue anywhere, even on the pitted areas on the hood.



Souveran is the best wax I've ever used. Considering that even with frequent use it will last a few years (Don2000 used a can 26 times and still has half left), it is definitely worth the price.
 
I just bought a new can Saturday night. I used my first can up and bought some paste glaze. I was not impressed at all with the PPG so i went back to Souveran and love it.



I have tried lots of different stuff and Souveran blows away everything I have tried. It works wonders on light or dark colored cars. It is well worth the $69
 
I would notice it in the seams and some on the trim.



The second time I used it I wiped it right off, this seemed to help. It's minor, but comparing to PPG there was nothing. PPG wipes off wet even doing a good portion of a panel at one time. Souv. drys very fast I almost have to apply and wipe doing a small area at a time.

I am sloppy - the residue I get on trim for this reason doesn't bug me - I just work to hide it or get it off. The residue that is bugging me is that I have pits in the hood from rock strikes. After several coats of Souveran - 3 or 4 over several weeks, I started noticing that these pits were white. They bug me. Haven't found a solution yet - tried a brush and alcohol, didn't work. I think I will next try something stronger like mineral spirits (shouldn't hurt the cured paint) on a q-tip -
 
Likecars, Carguy, thanks for the info. It's been a while since I've used Souv. so I can't remember if I'm getting the same. Maybe using it as a carnuaba topper helped. Can't be sure though.
 
islesun, I have used both Pinnacle and Zaino on my black truck, I like the Zaino better, both shine nice but for the money I would get Zaino.
 
I haven't seen any residue, maybe it's my car color but I don't get anything on the trim either. The Souveran goes a long way, one container will likely do 20+ applications.
 
I've only tried the Paste Glaz, but I must say it looks great even on black (says it works best on light colors), especially over Meguiars Hand Polish.
