COBRyan said:Here is what I was thinking:
Soap: NXT or TOL Bubble Bath Wash (she uses a lot of soap, so it has to be cheap!)
Drying Towel: Meguiar's Water Magnet/ MF Waffle Weave Towel
Detail Spray: Mother's Showtime/ Adam's Detail Spray/ or Quikshine
Tire Dressing: Undecided, but she prefers a spray
Wheel Cleaner: Poorboys Spray & Rinse/ A2Z
Wax: NXT Paste Wax (never used it, but heard it was decent) or Optimum Wax?
This is for her white 2003 Celica with very hard to clean aftermarket wheels. Any help would be appreciated!
I bet at LEAST half of the guys here are jealous!
Here are my recommendations. I try to list the best quality but have the best ease of use and verasility at the same time. Cost really isn't an option, but convenience in finding the product is.
Here's my recommendation:
Soap: NXT seems to be quite popular. I stick with Meg's gold class. About the same price, about the same performance. Pinnacle is nice, but expensive.
Detailing spray: I'm not a big fan of detailing sprays. On black I use Menzerna High Gloss Acrylic Shield if the car is topped with FMJ (only after washing). On light-colored cars, I've found that the Mothers/Meguiars products are just fine. I prefer the Meguiars clay/qd combination when claying over all others (except on black).
Drying Towel (or any towels): You can't compromise on the MF. While there are many reputable sources, I have never been disappointed with those from pakshak and they fill my every MF need.
Tire Dressing: 303 Aerospace protectant. This product is great and you can use it on pertty much ALL of your interior/exterior trim. Probably the most versatile product and has one of the strongest UV protection ratings. Gives a little shine (which I prefer over a "wet" look) and won't sling all over the place. Get foam applicators. Misting your protectant on your dash/wheels makes stuff go all over the place.
Wheel cleaner: Well, I started out giving a quick spray/buff of 303 protectant to my rims since the day I brought the car home. I never have a problem getting stuff off the wheels with a light wheel brushing. But I wash weekly.
Wax: If she's new, I'm not sure if I'd recommend a paste wax. What I WOULD recommend is a liquid. If you have access to it, Megs #26 (Hi-tech yellow liquid wax) is a great all around product. It's not as wet as some of the others, but the shine, slickness, ease of use, and durability is remarkable (polymer blend with carnauba). Some have complained that it attracts dust but I have not been able to find many other products that don't.
Window cleaner: You didn't list this, but I thought I'd add this in. Stoner's Invisible Glass is EXCELLENT. I keep about 10 cans stocked. Heh.
