Help me out, ordered a PC. Are these products OK?

I ordered a Porter Cable after almost a year of contemplatng it!:waxing: Finally. Here are the products I have...are they sufficient to remove spiderwebbing / light swirl?



I thought this would be my process:

Wash with Meguiar's Gold Class car wash

Mother's Claybar

Klasse AIO with PC (What speed/pad?)

Menzerna Finishing Touch Glaze (What speed/pad?)

Menzerna Full Molecular Jacket (What speed/pad?)

Collinite No. 845 Insulator Wax (What speed/pad? By hand?)



Thanks. I will be cleaning the wheels with soap/water with an old wash mitt. Can I use KAIO on them to brighten 'em up a bit?



Any other tips?



The primary car will be a 2006 VW Jetta GLI (Salsa Red) and then branching out to family/friends/friends of friends,etc. cars if all goes well.

First off, WELCOME TO AUTOPIA! Have Fun Learning New Things Everyday!:idea



1. Depending on how deep the swirls and spider webbing is, AIO should be able to do the job.



2. AIO at speed 5-6 with White LC Pad.



3. Finishing Touch Glaze - I use speed 4 and overlap the area at least 4 times on a LC black/blue pad.



4. I don't know much about FMJ. But seeing as it's a sealant. I would use a black pad on speed 3-4



5. 845, since you are only adding a layer of protection and don't have to work anything in. Use speed 3-4 on a blue/black LC Pad.



5. I heard of people using AIO on the wheels, so I don't see any harm from it. You can use it on a lot of trim, chrome, windows.



I rarely ever apply waxes by hand unless they are paste, then I will use a foam pad.
 
Is there anything I could get at an auto part store to restore the black luster to the lower trim? Nothing like Armor All though where it's like crack cocaine for your car. If you use it once, you'll need to use more and more just to keep it looking good.

Personally, I've never used anything OTC for my trim besides Mothers Back to Black which I think is a HORRIBLE product. I've had good luck though with Poorboys Trim Restore.

That's what it looked like after I did it by hand...lots of swirls left over...hopefully the PC will give me the results I'm looking for.
 
the PC will give you much better results than doing it by hand... as far as trim... i use adam's VRT... i like it

try to find a carquest near you, and they should have some duragloss products which many on here find to be very good products... :up

With the back to black once you start using it and use it for several appliations, it will be gin to last longer and longer you could try Megs 40 which cleans it more than it dresses it, you wont get it as shiny with megs 40 though
 
Congrats on the order... You'll love the Porter Cable..



The AIO may be enough for your car (looks great BTW!). But when you get to the friends cars and whatnot, you may want something a little more aggressive, depending on the finish.. There are a multitude of great light polishes out there. My current favorites are from Menzerna (SIP and 106ff are absolutely amazing, but somewhat finnicky in certain weather), but if you don't want to spend the money, there are other good more affordable polishes.. Poorboys SSR, Pinnacle XMT, Optimum, etc... I have found that I will only use them when the Menzerna doesn't want to cooperate though.



I use an all in one product on my clearcoated wheels from time to time with good results..



Everything else sounds good though.
