I like the ideal of a 3" pad and plate. what do they cost and where did you buy? Oh yes will it fit on a PC?

Thanks

You dont want to use a 3" pad and plate on the PC. The counter weight is all wrong...That size is meant for a drill. Besides, if you want to use the PC and a wool pad, just buy a 6" wool pad. The reason youd want to use the 3" setup and a drill is that the drill acts as a rotary, and will give you much better scratch removal capability. The reason for the 3" pads is that this is a more maneuverable size when attacking single scratches and chips. Cost is just 5 bucks for the backing plate with velcro, and about 4 bucks for a bunch of 3" velcro sheepskin pads.

I have some scratches on my wheels and a 6" is to big to work with. No problem chucking a backing plate in the drill. I just need to know what 3" backing plate and pad to order. I went to Sandmate but I still do not know which part numbers to order. I would use 3M FCRC or Meguiars #9. I see they have wool that would work but I would also like foam if they have them.

Thanks for your response and if you find the above infor please forward.

Ok, here you go:

> 1 x 200120 3" LOW PROFILE PADS FIXED 1/4"(6mm) SHAFT Std Hook Pad

> $4.93

> 1 x 202002 3" VELCRO BACKED GENUINE SHEEPSKIN BONNETS Genuine

> Sheepskin on Velcro

> $3.78

Mike,

I'd love to see the steps. I got mine out and things are tip top now.

I'm very pleased, but I bet the "pro" steps are likely more efficient.
