help me choose a radar detector

I just picked up a BEL Pro RX65 & I'm thoroughly pleased, it's saved my bacon a couple times on the NYS Thruway.

I was going to spring for an Escort 8500 X50 (the X50 & RX65 were ranked top 2 in radartest.com) but the RX50 came out on top for detecting POP radar.

V1 is tops for detecting laser but it didn't detect POP radar at all .... probably needs a freshening or an upgrade.

I've read that the RX65 detects POP better than the X50. I have an X50 and love it, and am not too concerned with POP mode right now anyway.

And to all the "bogey counter" lovers out there ;) the X50 displays multiple radar signals too. Granted it doesn't have little arrows, but when I'm flying down the highways I pretty much know where the signal is coming from. The X50's display is very easy to understand, and you can clearly see that there is more than one signal, and what band the signal(s) is/are on. Supposedly the RX65 shows multiple signals too, although it's not easy to understand like the X50 display; I've never used an RX65, so I can't confirm this.

IMHO, if you detector is signaling laser... you're being hit, and nothing is going to save you but a laser jammer.

Obviously it's personal choice, and each person is going to tell you that brand A is better than brand B. I can find plenty of people that say the RX65/X50/V1 is the best and all others suck compared it. I don't think any of them suck, and all are better than a $80 Walmart bought detector.
