I have a 1996 Impala SS with scratches from my kids running around on top of the trunk and hood. I would like to buff out these scratchs by hand if at all possible. What would some good choices for scratch and swirl removal. I plan on using wolfgang polish and sealant after I'm done. I was wondering if wolfgang is easy to apply by hand. Any advice would be appreciated and I would like to thank everyone that posts replies, in advance. Here are some pics of the problem:
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the first pic is paint cracking, its cracked from the basecoat up and no amount of polishing is going to fix it. My GTP has the same problem . The trunklid is pretty bad, personally I wouldn't tackle that without my rotary but Accumulator and Scottwax have done a lot of work by hand and they might be able to steer you into an aggressive polish that works well via hand.
