Help..friend was vandalized

So, my friend's gsx was treated to a bath of old, used motor oil a night ago. Him being unaware of paint maintenance philosophy, he tries to remove the oil with regular car wash soap and aggression w/o success. I was thinking of attempting a fix via PB bug squash, and if that does not work, I would try a clay bar. I have citrus degreaser as well, but the label says to not use it on automotive paints. FYI...his car was painted black by Maaco. Any thought or ideas to save me the guesswork? Thanks

Hmmmm, I've never tried to remove that much oil from a car before. For OTC stuff you might want to try a strong mix of Dawn first. If that fails you can try something like Windex, but test a small area first.

I'd also be concerned about how badly he marred his paint trying to get the oil off. If he was aggressive then the small metal fragments in used motor oil might have marred his paint up pretty bad. I would clay the car when you're finished and then reapply a good wax or sealer to the paint.

If its motor oil, only thing that I can think of that will quickly remove it is degreaser. Of course its gonna be a hard task cleaning it off, and rinsing immediately section by section... Then he'd need to re-wax it...

EDIT: tell him to use a high concentration of dawn dish soap. Definately a no-no around here, but thats the only other method I could think of to clean it off. Plus, its a lot safer than degreaser.

I agree with joyriiide1113 about trying a strong mix of Dawn first. If that fails you can try something like Windex, but test a small area first.

Man..what's wrong with people...It's just not right to mess with people's cars...if you got a beef, do it in person!

I'd probably self serv pressure wash first, and then while in the bay give it a strong dawn bath with the pressure washer and then repeat by hand.

Thats so true, besides a black eye is a much more effective way of getting your message across :argue

on a positive note the GSX doesnt need to look good to get street cred, there are alot of them that run 10's and are compleat turds, but I sure hope you can clean it up!

thanks everyone for the replies. My friend doesn't care about his paint like we here on autopia do. It's a nightmare! Nevertheless, I'm gonna go check out the damage myself right now...I'll keep everyone posted.

Foamgun, Dawn and cut down APC is what we use on aircraft bellies, they always seem to have severe oil contamination. The contamination doesn't seem to hurt the paint too badly though.
