Help detailing doors

I have a 2003 Passat that has black parts on the doors between the door and the roof that separate the front and rear windows. Sorry for my ignorance but I don't know what they're called. Anyway, they are shiny like paint but are not the same as my paint (blue anthracite). How should I care for them?

Thx

Baker999- Those are the "B" pillars. The "pillars" support the roof of the car. Generally, the "A" pillars are at the front, windshield to door glass, the "B"'s are between the doors, the "C" pillars are between the rear doors and the rear window (note that some cars also have "D" pillars, some "pillar-less" coupes only have "A" and "C", and ragtops only have "A").

If the Passat is like my Audis, treat them VERY gently! They're plastic, but most people treat them like very fragile paint. Use VERY mild products, they scratch easily. I remove scratches/swirls with the mildest product that will do the job. I seal mine with SG or BFII and top with wax.

That's what I thought but wasn't sure. I didn't realize they were plastic. I was hoping the would be a little more resilient than that. I'll treat with SG and top with S100. That should do the trick.

Thx for the help.
