Help a Brother Starting Out

Both of my threads were swept away to the Autopian triangle so I'll condense them:



1) Aside from flyers, what are effective marketing aids to distribute in parking lots (ie: magnets, etc...)?



2) I need a website. I can tackle most things "computer" and wondered if Frontpage will do an adequate job. I don't want to spend a bunch of time with FP only to find that it is a glorified Word. Is there a better program to author a site with frames? I want a continuous look and if possible, I want everything contained. See following site for example:

Obviously FP won't allow me to do this--what will?

I would be careful about distributing flyers in a parking lot. Most business's prohibit soliciting on their premises and you could get in some trouble that way. Plus you don't want to give yourself a bad name. You could go to some auto-oriented business ie: body shops, auto parts stores, dealerships, etc. and ask if you could have your card or flyer posted at the countertop. Offer a discount, or free service to the owner or manager of the store and to their customers as a way to generate some business.
 
Just as long as you don't stick anything under my wiper blades. Nothing will make me ignore a business faster than a flyer that is stuck to my windshield.
 
Yeah, my disclaimer was in my longer yet missing post. In the words of Mitch Hedberg:



"Everytime somebody hands me a flyer, it's like 'Here, YOU throw this away.'"

My wording was inexact. Perhaps "Other than flyers..." or "Instead of flyers..." would get my point across better. The Milk Carton thread had explained it better but it is no longer with us.



Virginia Beach is not known for its parking lot flyer distribution arrests anyway.
 
I put flyers out on doors in rich neighborhoods when I was starting out. Got appointments on average about 2 per 100 flyers.
