I have never had this much trouble buffing this stuff out! Also, there is brown spots being transfered onto my MF towel. My car must be pretty drity, although it doesn't look it. My car has sat out in the winter (for the first time). Is this why the 3MIHG is difficult to buff out? Is there something else I should try. I have some Megs #9, should I try that? Also the 3MIHG is over a year old - does that have anything to do with it?

PiL- My IHG is (way) over a year old too, and it's fine. As long as it didn't freeze yours should be OK.

I'd clean the paint well before using it, though. Clay, then use your #9 or some other paint cleaner or polish. IHG is best used on well-prepped paint. All that you should be buffing off is the dried IHG (don't try to use it as a cleaner).

I stopped using the 3MIHG and started with the Megs 9 and then followed-up with 7. Both of these went on and came off great! My Bimmer is starting to like she should. The winter was rough on her.

I just bought Clay Magic last week. I am gonna try that on my new black Passat first on the next nice weekend!

PiL- Glad to hear the #9 and #7 worked out for you. They both clean (#9 with abrasives and #7 with solvents), so they were probably more what the BMW needed after the winter. Be sure to put something over top of the #7 for long-term protection.
