Yes. Post beginner questions in the Autopia University forum.

Your questions:

1. PC is an abbreviation for Porter-Cable, a brand of power tools. The "PC" we refer to is the 7424 or 7336 orbital polisher.

2. Orbitals (random orbitals) are better for beginner use than rotaries. A rotary is a very helpful tool for removing major defects in paint, but it is more difficult to use properly than a PC.

3. The best products are the ones you like best. We Autopians don't all agree on which product line is the best. I don't rely on one product line, I have products from 5 different companies on my car's exterior alone right now!

4. Same answer. There is no BEST source of microfiber (MF). I buy my high quality MF products from ExcelDetail.com. My crappy MFs that I use for the interior I buy at WalMart.

Klasse AIO and SG Sonus P21S Remember those!

go to autopia-carcare.com and read. Do search on the forum for what your curiouse on

Welcoime my friend! :) You have joined a forum that has many different opinions. No one is absolutely correct on one things because there are many different ways to get the job done sometimes. What works for you and what you think gives you the ebst shine is going to be the best products, because you are going to feel that nothing else can be better OR your going to use so many different products that you will know that nothing else works better for you. But ask many questions and make sure you do your homework before coming to class. (haha, i thought that was funny) But there is alot of info out there sit down every night and do a little reading. There is PLENTY out there. :xyxthumbs

jonnymabey330- Welcome to Autopia!

What they said :xyxthumbs Since we're such an opinionated bunch :D I'll say that I find many polishes much easier to use than Meguiar's. But so I don't sound like a Meg's-basher I'll also say that their #16 paste wax is great. But the end result (good looking car) is generally a lot more dependent on process than on product choice. Doing everything the "right" way is what makes the difference.

Oh, while you're doing all that searching, take a look at posts about the Cyclo polisher too. Some of us think it's really great.

:welcome to Autopia jonnymabey330

You'll find as much information in as much or as little detail (no pun intended) as you need.

Just ask we'll try to guide you (albeit with a little bais as to 'favourite' products)

If I may offer lesson #!:

The aesthetics of a vehicles appearance is very subjective to say the least, the only best wax or sealant that really matters is what looks 'best' to you...

It really does all come down to; 85% preparation, 5% product, 7% application method and the balance is in the â€Ëœguyâ€â„¢ of the beholder.

WELCOME TO AUTOPIA!

I would recommend reading the forums for questions like that usually there are about 2 or 3 posts on that one topic alone!

Are you planning on purchasing additional products? What do you have now?

you name it and ive got it. we have a metal rack with wheels thats about 6 feet tall full of everything you could ever need to clean and detail a car. im partial to meguiars but i want to try some griots garage stuff.

what do you guys think of griots garage products? i like the towels they offer. i use the viking micro fibers and love the three they have. i have always used 100% cotton towels. now im hooked on micro's so im excited to try out theirs.

any suggestions on products you all like?

welcome, my suggestion is not come in and ask these "noob" questions, better yet, i would search the site, take some time and learn it from the thousands of previous posts. browse through the click and brag section and you will be able to see what many different products can do for you and what other people like to use on certain colors.
