Hello Friends, I've been reading the information on this site for awhile now and decided to jump on. I don't have any planes on pro detailing but i do like messing around as a hobby and if i can make a few bucks, what the heck. I would like to say that the info i have read and put to use is great. So i'm going to try a full on detail, clay bar, polish wax the whole nine yards. I have been cleaning interiors for awhile, since i'm an over the road trucker ( not ice road ) ;) keeping the inside clean is a big, well to some of us anyway. And this is my canvas a 2008 Kenworth T660, well soon as i load up the pix ;). My thoughts are that i will have plenty of room to practice since the hood is the size of a VW all by itself. I will have plenty of questions so be ready :D
Thanks to everyone for everything guys and just call me Silver all my friends do. Have a great day
:dcrules

Welcome Silver! Any association with Maxwell's Silver Hammer? :D

Don't worry, there are a lot of us that don't have airplanes, helicopters, or even exotic vehicles to detail. Doesn't matter what you've got is welcome for discussion and questions.

Please feel free to open discussion about interior detailing. Talk about your products and processes. It is a topic that seems to take second place to the shine and bling of exterior detailing. But IMO it is more impactful to a client (or yourself) since the cockpit is where the driver (and passengers) spend most of their/your time.

Welcome Silver from a retired long distance trucker of 42 years. :bigups

I like the hammer name but when Smokey is near you better put that hammer in the tool box. :D

Hey Guys thanks for the kind words  and yes Mr. Clean thats exactly wher it comes from my brother is a big beatles fan and that's where the tag comes from. As far as the interior man O man :wall at this point i have been using simple green (undiluted) and i read a post a little to late about that. And a turtle wax product for protection. I didn't like the results so i'm going to try poor boys APC or Meguiars along with some thing else for the dash. And for my next trick i need to figure out some thing for seats and carpet. Thanks again friends. One last thing where would i post interior questions and general chit chat ?

Welcome to DC, SilverHammer.

MC is right. Paint gets a lot of press around here. But for me, stepping up to some premium vinyl and leather products produced the most dramatic reults when I started getting serious about detailing.

Be safe!
