Hello everyone. I just thought I'd introduce myself. I've known about this site for several years now and lurked on and off. I never really took the time to really understand the detailing process until the last couple of days. Initially I was overwhelmed with the different types of polishes, waxes, cleaners etc. To top it off I never really understood the differences between the different types of polishers. I was always under the impression that they were only used by prefessionals and beginners like myself can damage/burn the cars paint. Boy was I wrong........
For a while I was out of the car seen until recently I picked up a 1994 MR2 Turbo. I was quickly reminded about this site by the good folks over at MR2oc. For the last 3 days I've been reading different topics just to expand my knowledge on detailing. I'm sure I haven't even tapped the surface but I have a basic idea of what I want for a "beginner kit" I will more than likely purchase a FLEX along with the various LC CCS pads. As for polishes and wax I'm still doing research
I'm sure it boils down to preference.
In the past I've always done everything by hand and I can't wait to start using an actual polisher. Well thats about it for now.
