Heavy Hitting Compounds

I tested both 3000 extra cut and megs 105 and they are close in cut with nod to 3m, but both finish down about the same with nod going to megs.
 
Mark-V Qwick kut MV350, this is a superb compound with good cut but it finishes of very good for being such a sharp compound.

sorry i looked at my bottle and its SYNCUT 5.0 super heavy duty compond 500 grit.

In a pinch, on a 1" spot fix, you MIGHT be able to make it look acceptable.



So really, the answer would be no.



Rotary is a MUST for any detailer. PC is great for polishing, but not for heavy cutting. At least, not without spending 30 hours instead of 3.

Depends on the sanding marks,but generally you can do it by PC *with the right stuff*.



I've removed 2K sanding scratches on Audis, old/hard BMWs, and hard GM clear with no problem at all, and 3K ones come out even easier. But those were scratches from Unigrit/Nikken/Mirca paper, not the low-quality 3M stuff that'll sometimes leave random *deep* scratches.



If you're having trouble removing 2K/etc. scratches via PC, try the 3.5" LC PFW pads with something kinda aggressive, they do the job quite easily for me, truly a "no problem" situation.



For that matter, I've removed 2K scratches from Audis *by hand*, but that wasn't exactly fun or time-efficient. Use the PFW pads, they make it a quick, simple job. You do, of course, have to follow up with milder pads/products as this is pretty aggressive.

Doesn't Scottwax use a OHC + M105 mix? I'm curious to try that out if it increases the work time of M105.



I found 3M 06060 for $29/Quart. Good price?



Also found "rocks in a bottle" 3M 05954 for $15.50/Quart. So this is more aggresive than 3M EC?
