I can only do so much but I wet sanded with 1000 then stepped down to 2000 buffed with Clean Cut Compound

Correct me if I'm wrong anyone, but wouldn't wet sanding provide better results than what he is getting? I wet sanded my headlights and many other people's headlights with 1500 then 2000 then polished out with menz IP on LC green pad, menz IP on LC orange pad, then Menz FP on LC white pad with a PC and got much better results than this. No offense to the thread starter but I think you should be able to get much better results than what you are getting with the process youre stating.

Guess you didn't read the other post it was WET sanded with 1000 then 2000 and buffed with Yellow Wool and Megs Heavy Cut CLeaner

I did a headlight refinish on my old '00 Maxima. It almost looks like you need another higher grit sandpaper....such as 2500. I think you still have some sanding scratches that are too deep for the Megs Heavy Cut to take out. Maybe give that shot and post some pics again? :nixweiss

It needs to be followed with PlastX on a soft pad (LC white or softer) at 2200+ RPM down to 1200 to refine the finish. It still has that compounding haze.

Looks better but it still looks like even more compounding and refined polishing needs to be done.

+1. I think the haziness that's left came from the sanding marks.

Needs more work but you're getting there. I'm just glad you actually posted the process on this one and are interacting with the feedback people are requiring, as compared to your other threads. Keep it up!
