Headlight Hazing

jesselyons2002- how long ago did you polish the headlights out (just curious how long your results have lasted and how often are you reapplying the S100)? I have P21S wax (which is "VERY" similar to S100) so I can try that. I thought a sealant would do better than a wax so maybe I'll learn something new after trying it. Thanks! :2thumbs:

I have Plastx too but haven't tried it with the PC.

Well It's been like that for month and a half now. I just keep it maintain with spary wax

That happens on my brother's and girlfriend's cars. I used Plastic-x and a orange 2.5" edge pad and my PC. That took the hazing right out. After that I topped it with 845. Its been a few weeks and they still look like there is no plastic covering there.

My Charger gets alot of pitting in addition to the hazing. 106FF by hand clears it up well.

SuperBee364- you're Charger looks awesome!! (okay that's another thread) ;)

Yes I think we all know how to remove the hazing but having it start to come back so quickly is a pain and looks awful. Thanks again for all the feedback everyone! Much appreciated! Maybe UPGP would work better? Just a thought (anything with strong UV protection I would think would slow the hazing) but who knows.

It is driven on the highway a lot but I've never seen hazing like this from road debris. I polished them out today with Meg's Plastx and put a coat of P21S wax on them.

My '03 G35 sedan has a horrible hazing problem as well. Seems like it's a losing battle...anything you do to correct it, and it comes right back in a month or two. Really frustrating to have a nice shiny clean car and have headlights that look like crap! I feel your pain!!

Have you maintain it with spray wax. That what I do ever car wash. Still making them look brand new.

The other day while eating some fast food in a parking lot I noticed a G35 sedan with some really bad headlight hazing. At first I thought the guy had installed one of those yellow Laminex headlight covers, but then I thought about this thread and I noticed that some areas of the headlights were hazier than others, so it was definite headlight hazing. That's gotta suck to have to polish it out every month!

My question is, how is it possible to use such a crappy plastic, especially on a car that's supposed to be somewhat luxury?

I mean, even Kia used better plastics during that particular model year.

My suggestion would be to polish them out next time and take them to a good bodyshop for a few new coats of clear. I think that should eliminate the recurrence.

I have the same problem with a Kia Sephia. I can polish them with Plastx and they look good , but after useing the headlights a few times they get dull.
