Will it cut and finish as good as M105 when using equal pads? Is it only designed for rotary use, or can it be used effectively with a Flex 3401?

It will cut as well but not as fast. Finishes fantastic. Works with the 3401/pc

A year or so ago, I thought UNO was best used with a rotary. I took a look at the HD website, and it now only mentions using it with a DA polisher. I'm confused??

FYI, in general, you can use any polish with both rotaries and DA machines.
