HD Speed - Review

Yeah the average I've read is 2 months w/o any sort of additional LSP layering
 
So if you get 2 months out of speed how long do you need to wait to apply a different wax? Or is there something else you should follow with?
 
After all the hype and winning HD speed in a giveaway, I decided to try this on a friends trashed vehicle. It wasn't meant to be a swirl free correction but a true AIO usage. It was my first time on a rotary as well (after a few years with DA), Uber green polish pad and Rupes LH18ens rotary. Will let the pictures and video do the talking

You used Speed with a Rotary? Interesting, that's the first I've heard of anyone using it on anything but a DA. Looks like it worked out pretty well!

3D/HD products are more rotary designed/targeted than for a DA. In my case though I wanted to get a hang of using a rotary and also give Speed a try.

Also, most DA oriented products would work fine with rotary but vice versa may not be true for all. A DA may not be able to properly break down DAT compounds yielding not so finished results. e.g. Sonax 4/6 had mixed reviews with DA and the manufacturer came up with a DA friendly friend (ex 4/6).

If one plans to top Speed with an additional LSP, would there be any advantage to use Speed instead of HD Polish? From my understanding HD Speed is actually a form of LSP mixed with HD Polish. Does the Speed have longer working times or does it wipe off easier than the HD Polish alone ?

If you're going to top immediately with something, you're really better off using a dedicated polish and then finishing with a durable LSP, as Speed isn't the most durable. And HD's polish, adapt and cut all offer amazingly long work time and wipe away super easy.

jrock--I agree, but there is something to be said for using Speed as a finishing polish/base for Poxy. I was really impressed by the added depth and wetness I got when I used Speed as a base for Poxy on my wife's non-metallic black Golf rather than using Poxy after HD Polish.

Also, I seem to get better durability out of Speed if I let it sit on the car until I'm done polishing rather than wiping off after each section.
 
It did stain my green pad ever so slightly and I washed it thoroughly. However when I used the pad with something else and washed it again, the stain wasn't there.

FWIW, I also did whole car and then removed. Topped with poxy for added durability and looks.
