HD Speed and a neglected Honda Pilot

HD Speed to the rescue again. I just love that stuff.

Customer brought me their Honda Pilot family hauler with the warning "my wife doesn't take very good care of it". Well....he wasn't joking. I was later informed by an friend of the customer that it's never been waxed or polished since they've owned it, and it showed. The interior was pretty awful, so I had my work cut out for me there. The customer chose to pay for a one step AIO on the exterior and an interior cleanup, so that's how we proceeded.

Process:

2 Bucket wash with Four Star Ultimate Car Wash
Tires cleaned with Four Star Ultimate Tire Cleaner Gel (I liked this stuff)
Decon with a Nanoskin fine grade prep towel using UWW+
Polished with HD Speed on a yellow Rupes microfiber polishing pads using the Rupes 21

Leather was cleaned up with Four Star Ultimate Leather Cleaner Gel
Hard surfaces were wiped down with OPC @3:1 and then treated with Four Star Star Ultimate Vinyl Protectant
Windows cleaned with Stoners

Awesome job !!!! You gotta love HD Speed. I have a detail coming up this weekend and plan on using a Speed/Proxy combo.

Thanks!

It really is an awesome product. It's a joy to use, very effective for its intended purpose, and looks great

Great turn around!!! Speed is amazing--even cuts well on hard VW clear.

You know I do understand that most people don't take care of their cars in the Autopian way, but give me a break. Can't you even drag out the vacum once a month to clean the interior--you have to ride in it probably every day. Would you keep your house in this condition?

I golf with a group of guys on a weekly basis and we rotate driving and most of the autos are in a condition similar to this Honda. There's one that I swear he cleans his windows with butter. When I drive they always comment about the condition of my car and have in the past asked how I keep it so "new" looking--when I explain what I do and the few (minimal) things they could do to keep their cars looking good they all just get a non interested look on their face and usually say something like "Oh that's too much work." Go figure!!

Thanks man.

Yeah, I really don't get it. I had to drag my wife out to check this one out. The interiors of SUV's and minivans that haul families around and arent taken care of just suck the life out of me on a detail.

I don't understand how a person can spend the amount of money they do on a car and then spend the time they do driving in it every day and let it get so filthy. Take a little pride in your processions. My every day job takes me in a lot of people's houses, and a lot of those are as bad if not worse which is even more mind boggling.

Looks great! How do you go about cleaning the really dirty door jambs and the inside of the doors, the painted areas?

I use the mist or shower setting on my garden hose nozzle. Rinse all the painted areas and then use a small microfiber towel with whatever wash solution I'm using. Rinse it all off again and then go over it with a quick spray wax.
