HD poxy vs optimum poly seal

I have used all three but I can not tell if Poxy is more durable. I just have to good of a time of adding extra coats of products every few weeks. It does not get as cold where I live so I can add extra coats anytime. Thanks for asking.

In your experience how does the durability of HD Poxy compare with other sealants such as ZAIO, Z2 and DG105?

I've been really really disappointed with poly-seal, if you use anything more than a black pad or white pad at over 600rpm on a rotary, your getting hologram, very disappointed product. One of the worst I tried in the last 3 years with over 10k of detailing products tried.

You seriously screwed something!!!

I dunno, anything more than a white pad, that would mean orange. If I move fast with a rotary, I sure as heck get holograms. Is anyone saying they can finish down with white pads on black with a rotary and a product that does not fill?

For me, OPS works with orange one-step Scholl/Menzerna pads wonderfully. I'm using it in the 1200-1800 RPM range. When refining, I go down to 900 on the Mak. Of course pad stiffness/ppi is always paint hardness dependent.

It was a daysaver when I corrected a gold Infiniti I30. Soft sticky paint, holograms galore with #80, skipping and skyrocketing temps with Menz 3.02, Scholl S17 and polishing pads. After a 2.5 hour trial and error session, OPS was the product of choice on a 90 ppi finishing pad, resulting in a 80-85% correction (1500 RPMs), wonderful lubrication, fully acceptable panel temps - as always exceptional comfort because of a total lack of dust and residue on the panels. Won-der-ful!

I didn't believe that this weak abrasive package can correct the car, but straight IPA and 1Z Acrysol showed zero dropback, and most importantly, no holograms.

Heck, even on red ford paint I had some hologram with polyseal on white. on black pad.. well the corrections is so minimal. Better use a menzerna polish or something else on a white pad and finish well.

Poly-seal is really a polish it should be made for correction. ONly to polish. and I rather do menzerna PPo83 than poly seal to really give that jeweling look. so to me, it's an useless product. Meguiar D151 is a better product in terms of AIO.

*This is my opinions, obviously* * and you can't tell me my opinion is wrong because i can say the same for your opinion lol.

I agree, it needs to contain a stronger abrasive. I keep the stuff around because its a pleasure to use, but I hardly ever reach for it.

-On cars that need a true one step, it doesn't correct enough, I reach for FK215/ZAIO/D151

-On cars that get several polishing steps, I reach for a more durable sealant

In fact, I can't think of a good time to use it..... maybe post claying?

What poli-seal excels at is one step jobs for cars the owner is selling and isn't interested in spending money beyond a shiny, slick surface. Wash, clay, Poli-Seal with a polishing pad and a DA and you've got one happy soon to be ex car owner.

cobraa, how much product are you using when you prime the pad and when reloading it? How does it work for you? What RPM range (just above 600 is a bit vague)? How much residue does it leave behind the pad for you?

Poli-Seal is basically a finishing polish with some protection.

I remember reading on the Optimum forum a recommendation to mix PoliSeal and Opt. Polish 70:30 for an AIO with stronger cut.
