HD Poxy / Blackfire Wet diamond comparison

Never used Blackfire but I have used Poxy and been really pleased with its carnauba look. Durability is good too. Only real problem is it doesn't tolerate storage at high temperatures. I keep everything in my trunk and Poxy separated and wouldn't go back together so I have remember to bring it inside.

I had some that separated. They replaced it. Good customer service.

One nice thing about POXY is how far the product can be spread onto the surface. 4 tiny pea sized drops can coat your hood, both fenders and bumper. It keeps going and going and is a total breeze to remove. I personally don't think BFWD can compare.

Yeah, it goes further than any product I've used.

845, easy to work with (even in direct sun), good winter durability. However, I really hate the chemical/wd-40 smell of 845. I wonder if the Poxy/BFWD is my ticket to the problem.

Neither is going to have the durability, but they will fix your smell problem. Looks are going to be better on anything but whites and silvers.

Thanks for the info. I guess I will have to keep searching. Hope there is a liquid wax out there that can come close to 845 without the smell.

Duragloss 105 and Zaino Z2 are easily as durable and while neither smells great, they aren't offensive smells.

105/Z2/Z5/ZAIO are all outstanding sealants. I would say that Blackfire Wet Diamond looks better than all of them. I haven't used Wet Diamond on an outside vehicle yet so I can't comment on the durability.

Wet Diamond is definitely more expensive than all the others I mentioned. Is the extra price worth the difference in looks? It's up to the user.

You folks have me intrigued by Poxy even though I've got more selants and waxes than I could use up in 5 years or more!

Could Dan or anyone esle please compare Collinite 845 and Duragloss 105? And which do you think would look best on Harbor gray? I have 845, Crystal Seal, and Poly Spray and love them. When warm weather comes back I also want to try Poxy. I need to stay off these forums as I only have one vehicle. LOL Thank you!

DG105 is going to have a bit more gloss and a bit more depth than 845. It will also be about 20% more durable in most applications. The thing I really like about 105 is the mild cleaners, its a fantastic product for daily drivers.

I agree. I love the nice warm glow that 105 has given to my white HHR. It looks awesome especially in the late afternoon with very nice depth and gloss. I think it would look great on gray, and I really want to try it on red sometime.

If any one wants to send me a sample of bfwd, i can send them one of poxy. Ill do a full comparison. I honesty havent used anything else since i picked up poxy. I also cant justify spending twice the money for an AG rebadged product.

Exactly. When a product costs neary double and gives you equal performance why would you? If you were closer, I would send you a whole bottle of BFWD.

I just tried Poxy, but I applied it to a vehicle that [still needs] about 100 hours of prep. Hopefully it will still bond, I did a strong CGCWG + OPC wash but the paint feels akin to sandpaper. I like the application and scent of BFWD better, but that means nothing to me if POXY looks better and lasts longer.

Let me know, I live in Chula Vista and have BFWD, HB, Exo, Fuzion, C2 v2 on its way and others.

I also have Poxy
