1. 1997 Ford Escort, Pacific Green Metallic-polished by hand about 5 years ago-water etchings, wash marring, scratches typical as shown in the first photo. Preparing this car for sale so didn’t want to spend too much time on it. After CG Citrus wash and Clay Magic clay the plan was to use HD UNO V4 with an orange B&S pad, but the day was very hot and humid - the UNO was drying up and dusting after only a couple of passes. Tried HD Polish with the yellow B&S which corrected better than expected, stayed wet and finished well with the yellow pad--then a coat of POXY with B&S red pad. Sold it on Craig’s List for way over Kelly Blue Book value to the first person that looked at it.
2. 2012 VW Golf, non-metallic black-new-dealer honored my request to not wash the car so it was virtually swirl free with the exception of a minor scratch on the hood and roof, however they had removed the protective wrap so the car sat for a couple of weeks of extremely hot, sunny weather with on and off rain showers. There were a few large water spots on the hood and a few on the roof as well as many smaller spots. Washed and clayed with CG Citrus wash and Clay Magic. Treated each of the large spots with white vinegar allowed to dwell with a small piece of surgical gauze then polished each large spot with HD Polish on a 4” B&S orange pad then the entire hood and roof with HD Polish on B&S green pad to remove the smaller spots. HD Polish removed the larger spots in no time at all and finished well even on the orange pad. Applied a coat of the DG 601/105 cocktail then the next morning a coat of POXY.
Conclusions: HD Polish was a pleasure to work with and had allot more cut than I had anticipated. Never dried up, no dust and wiped off very easily. Contacted DG they said I didn’t even need an IPA wipe down of HD Polish before applying the 105. HD Polish was so easy to work with and gave fantastic results to this beginner at machine polishing.
THANKS TO HD AND DAVID FOR THE CHANCE TO TRY THIS GREAT PRODUCT!!!!
The following pictures are not too extensive as I was in a time crunch, but do show a representative example of the paint condition before and after polishing.
