HD Cleanse Equivelent?

Super Resin Polish has a chalky abrasive which really helps with extra cleaning. Your cloth moves through the chemical cleaner on the paintwork with the mini micro abrasives improving this action.

I assume Kaolin works in the same way but is a little more upmarket and prehapes nicer or effective!?

I thought it was a cleaning enhancer as opposed to defect reducer.

The abrasive in SRP seems a bit more aggressive, but yeah, used gently it's still not functionally abrasive on the Jag's regular lacquer but it *is* on the soft satin-finish black ss of the window frames (SRP has been my penultimate product for a long time, though I might go back to Pinnacle PCL). Others have used it more aggressively and they claim that it'll do minor correction on regular paint :nixweiss

The talk of HD Cleanse (paint cleaner) and #7 (glaze) reminds me that back in the day we used #7 as a "nonabrasive paint cleaner" on ss lacquer. It did a gentle solvent action (or at least that's what I assumed, as a teenager, I was experiencing; might've also been some mechanical action from the Kaolin :nixweiss) and was good for that as long as you didn't get all aggressive with it and/or let it dry in the sun :o

Anybody got more info on the Victoria Lite Cleanse and/or the Mother's? Functionally abrasive/not, etc.?

Mother's pre-wax cleaner is/was my old stand-by when I used to hand detail. It is great for superficial cleaning, but it doesn't have any cutting power (to be honest, most pre-wax cleaners should have minimal abrasive power. There are some that are better than others, and even some that will have a hint of aggressiveness...that's the paint cleaning product that I admire).

VW Lite Cleanse is a great product.Non abrasive, cleans chemicaly and also contains a small amount of Carnauba, setting it apart from most pre wax cleaners.I liken it's action to that of an astringent.

The Zymol HD Cleanse does not contain any Kaolin(clay),but it does contain Kapolite, which is functionaly non abrasive.Kapolite is used in the formula(sub micron size) to improve gloss, but it does not 'cut' in any way.

Ah, good info!

Accumulator, I hear what you're saying about the kaolin perhaps being "functionally non-abrasive". My information came from the main (and perhaps, at the time, only) Zymol distributor in Canada and he stated the kaolin was included as an abrasive. Perhaps he was wrong ;) Interesting that you bring up the subject of Meg's "pure polishes" again. As I said previously, the original HD Cleanse looked, felt and smelled like Show Car Glaze #7......nah, it couldn't be... :grinno:

Sorry if this was touched on somewhere previously in this thread, but I haven't read the whole thing...

Anyway, the Kaolin clay in HD-Cleanse isn't meant to be an abrasive. It's there for Kaolin's scratch hiding properties, which are among the best you can get if you'd rather hide than correct. Of course, the hiding doesn't last long, but HD-Cleanse does do a good job of hiding defects.

Edit: according to another web site, Kapolite contains kaolin clay.

On the topic of kaolin, for those o you that have used ONE, the white stuff on the botton is kaolin clay according to CG.

OK, roger that info too. Heh heh, Kaolin seems to show up in quite a few products that are known for their concealing.

Is super resin polish from Autoglym? I thought this super resin polish was more like a sealant based AIO? Like ZAIO or KAIO...

Yeah, SRP is from AutoGlym and yeah it's a cleaner-sealant like KAIO. Some of us like it a lot better than KAIO but IME it doesn't clean quite as well.

It'd be *really* counter to the pure-Zymol approach, but some might like it as a penultimate product. FWIW I *REALLY* like it before Souveran on the Jag, the two in combination give just the right look *for me*.

If Ive never used any of the 3 (ZAIO, KAIO, and SRP) which would you suggest? Ease of use is the biggest concern to me. Can it be removed after drying? Does it have any issues with humidity?

Grease- That's a tough comparison for me to make for somebody else

The ZAIO has the strongest abrasives (relatively speaking) and lasts pretty long on its own. I have only limited experience with this product but it seems easy to use.

The KAIO seems to clean the best in a chemical sense. Easy enough to use but I recommend that you don't let it dry. Doesn't last long by itself. Does not stain trim, ever.

The SRP is sorta in-between the other two. Lasts fairly long on its own. Fills/conceals the best of the three. Easy to use IMO but dusty. Not much trim staining, but it can in some cases. For some subjective reason I kinda like it the best but that's just me and I wouldn't read too much into that preference.

I really can't say which I'd recommend, depends on the job :nixweiss Sorry, I know that's not much of an answer.
