Haze after DACP, SMR with yellow or white?

Interesting developments...

I got a good look at the car in the sun, yes some slight DACP haze but also horrible straightline surfce marring, only way it could have happened was when I applied the AIO, it was in the same back and forth motion. They were quite hard to remove, DACP with a yellow pad had a hard time. Followed with SMR with a white pad and GEPC with a white pad. I THINK that they're gone, again I lost my light and had to rely on parking garage and gas station lights instead of sunlight. The sreaking was really bad on the sides of the car, but was also on the hood, roof and trunk.

I've shelved Klasse for now and finished with a coat of EX until I can fogure out what the hell I did. It looked terrible...

It looks great now lol

What the hell did I do wrong? I followed the instructions on here TO THE LETTER. Could the applicator I got from David be bad (if it is I'm sure he's not aware of it or he'd never have sent it to me...)

Steve -

I think your problems began with the DACP. I had a similar exerience the first time I used it because I did not work it in long enough.

Yellow pad with PC at 3 takes about 5 minutes per section. Have to work it in until it almost disappears. Even Megs says that the product is designed so that the longer you work it in, the finer the cutting action is.

Because I noticed it right away, I took a little more DACP, sprayed a light mist of water on the pad, turned up the speed to 4 and went back and gave it another shot. Went about 4 minutes, while reducing pressure on the PC so by the time all the product was gone the pc was just "floating" under it's own weight. Came out perfect.

AIO - Sounds like the classic problem of using too much product.

This is the third time I've used it, first time was a disaster like you said, but the second and then now, I gave it plenty of time at 6 on the PC to break down. It was chilly out, about 65 could this have something to do with it?

As for the streaking, I did use too much product on the hood, the first panel I did, but by the time I got around to the doors I had it down, it was good and light to where I almost couldn't see it. Regardless if AIO isn't abrasive, then how is it possible that even too much product would cause marring? It wasn't streaking, they almost looked like holographic buffer marks....

Is it possible that they were buffer marks from the dealership STILL? I've always topped the car with GEPC and EX both of which have swirl hiding properties, I suppose this could have been the first time I ever saw the paint stark clean in the sun...

Yeah it looks awesome now, I backed it back out into the sun and all the holographic marks are gone, I'm going to put another coat of EX on (doesnt look good with only one) and then take pictures...

true. EX needs 2 coats to bring out shine. First time I used it I was so disappointed because I had heard so many good things. My car was sparkling after having used SMR yellow pad, GEPC white pad routine. Then I put on a coat of the EX and I was like "what happened". But after 2nd coat, looked really good. Didn't notice much improvement with the 3rd however.

I'm thinking about giving Klasse twins a shot next time around. I've seen some pics of black Audi's (which is what I have) that used Klasse and they were unbelievable. So many products, so little time.
