Haven't been on in a while. Who wants to guess why my SC400 is idling at 1,500?

You should keep the teal. It's a neat color, very 90's. Just curious, but why do you want to change the bumpers and repaint and whatnot? Is the paint in a bad way?

In response to your title question, I figured maybe you dropped in some big cams or something and the car couldn't idle below 1,500! Glad to hear it was just your carpet instead! You ever take the car to the track to see what she'll do before you go mod-crazy?

I want to change the bumpers because the pre-'97 ones are looking very dated. It's not necessarily a collector's kind of car like a C4 or GN, so dated isn't what I want. Also, there are little imperfections that only I'll ever notice. On the driver's side of the front bumper, the little corner piece on top, near the fender, is stress cracked a bit. The rear bumper has some gashes in it from steep driveways and such. The newer ground effects are very subtle but much more modern looking. I haven't tracked her yet. If I had to guess, she'd probably run something between :wall and :lol @ about :sadpace: MPH. ( 0-60 is said to be about 6.7-6.9, and the 1/4 is said to be about 15.3. That was when the car was new and had a professional driver testing it).

Steve- is the owner of that car on ClubLexus.com? If not, please contact him and tell him to get his *** on there. That picture is giving me a stiffy. AFAIK, there are only a hand full of SC400s running F/I in America. The Aussies have all of the good parts. BTW, my car was way lower than that.

The suspension system I'm looking at now has height and stiffness adjustability.

Hey man, dont feel bad about the floormat issue. My uncle and my father took his RX300 to the dealer for a loss of power problem. Keep in mind, that years and years ago in a far away land, my dad was HUGE into cars..I mean HUGE....if ya didnt have atleast 500 hp, get lost huge. Anyway, they took my Aunts RX300 in because it had no power, ya really had to be liberal with the thorttle to get the car to move. Went to the dealer, and it was fixed in about 2 seconds. Parking Brake was set.

I haven't let him forget about it to this day.

In my SS, I dont put a floormat down on the drivers side. I have these really nice mats with Impala SS logos on them, but they're really thick and it keeps the accelerator from going all the way to the floor. :D

That RSP is a cool color, but I don't care for it on the SC400. Just doesn't go with the classy, understated lines of the car IMO. I know my tastes are rather conservative, but I like it better in the teal.

This happened when I was younger with my stepdad. We were vacationing and every so often the truck would just go full speed ahead. Happened a couple of times without warning and he would flip it in neutral shut the ignition off pull the shoulder and start it up and drive off. I finally had enough of this crap and decided what was wrong. Being a youngster, I wouldn't open the hood, I went to look at the pedals (HAHA) and found the floormat pushing the pedal down....I felt like a genius on that day.
