Have PC now need Pads

I would like to order my pads and polish/wax etc from the same place (premiumautocare.com).

I have the 7424 PC and it came with the 6 inch hook and loop backing pad #18002. It is a contoured backing plate and I would like to use it in lieu of buying a diffrent backing plate. I want the DACP that the premium autocare site has and some of their other products, but I'm wondering what kind of pads would work best with my 6inch backing plate. I like the 7.5 inch CMA pads but I had rather order all my stuff from Premiumautocare if possible.

any ideas?

Slightly off topic, but not entirely.
First off, I have the 5" Meg's backing plate and use 6.5" pads with good results.
My point is, wouldn't the 7.5" pads be the ideal pad for those with the 6" backing plate?
I had always had some concern with clearance using 6.5" pads with the 6" plate, but the 7.5" pads should have plenty of pad outside of the backing plate.
I also noticed that they were machine washable.

I have been using the 7424 with a 6" backing plate and 6" inch pads. I have only used the PC once and it worked well. Is there any advantage to using a bigger pad?

The 7.5" LC Curved Edge pads (a.k.a. "Advanced" pads at PAC and CMA) are my favorites. I use them with a 6" backing plate and counterweight. The 7.5" LC's have a recessed pocket to enclose the edges of the backing plate. It's a very safe solution. Here is a pic that I posted on a previous thread -

AWD330 your post is what made me want the 7.5's. I just got off the Phone with Dwayne and a set of three is on the way to my house.

You guys are great here ... thanks for the help.

That sure looks like a nice setup to me. I'll have to try the LC pads............ if awd330 likes them, they must be good! :bigups

Wow, I feel like Mikey from the old Life cereal commercial. Anyone here old enough to remember that one? "Let's give it to Mikey. He won't eat it. He hates everything. <pause> He likes it! Hey Mikey!" :D

Pads

The orange power pad from CMA will just about do anything you want i used one last week and it worked the best over anything i ve tryed good luck

Why do the CMA pads @ PAC and Autogeek have holes in the middle? Won't accidentally applying too much pressure expose the velcro to the paint surface?

The orange pad that i got from CMA doesent have holes in the pad are you using a Rotary polisher or a DA polisher

I just bought a Porter Cable 7336sp Dual Action. I only ask because the photos on the websites show a hole through the middle of the CMA pads.

I received the Grey and Yellow pads today adn they have holes in the middle. Guess I better not press on them too hard.. I think it would take a lot of pressure to flatten the pad.

I've used two brands of pads with holes in the middle (7.5" Lake Country and 6.5" Edge DA) on my PC. The holes have not presented any problems thus far. I would think that if you were pressing down that hard, the machine would stop spinning before the middle of the velcro backing plate would make contact with the paint. :dunno

Thanks for the replies. I'm new to the PC world and I thought that the holes may present a problem. What are your experiences with the LC 7.5 pads?

My limited experience has been great! Dwaynes customer service is awesome and the pads are much better quality than what I'm used to seeing (store bought). The 7.5 on my PC look like a combo that was made for eachother. Get U some you wont regret it.
