Have beige leather w/ ink stain... How to remove it?

Meg's gold class but i dont think it will remove it.

You can use some of Meg's APC + diluted, it is not really made for leather but it will work. Just make sure you condition the leather right away.

and if this "leather" is actually vinyl, won't the hairspray ruin the vinyl?

also, doesn't some leather have a vinyl coating on it? if so, won't the hairspray ruin this coating?

Had the exact same problem with very light tan leather when I left a standard ball point ink pen on the seat of my wife's brand new Subaru during a very hot New England day.

Tried everything, nothing worked, spotted the can of bug and tar remover and figured that I could not be in any more trouble so what the heck-every trace of ink came out.

As I recall I first dabbed a bit on the large mark and let it sit for a few seconds then blotted it out, repeated and waited a few seconds longer then when I felt comfortable that none of the dye was going to be removed I put more on, let it sit for about thirty seconds and rubbed with great vigor. Finished by wipping with a mild soap solution.

This was doing the summer so the seat was very warm, not sure if this is important or not-I wish you good luck.

go tbo LeatherZ.com and buy some Spinneybeck leather cleaner and conditioner it comes with a bottle of ink remover. its also the absolute best leather conditioner in the world. Spinney is the maker of fine leathers for all sorts of applications incl autos

Solvents (as in Bug & Tar removers)will remove ink stains, but they are somewhat harmful to the covered leather. The 'old' hairspray (also contain solvents) remedy is meant for uncoated leather

Ink stains

Some ballpoint ink stains can be sponged clean using 303TM Cleaner & Spot Remover. If this doesn't completely remove the stain, the other alternative is to use diluted Isopropyl alcohol (or a hairspray in an emergency) Townsend Leatherâ„¢ Ink & Stain Remover will removes ink, lipstick, heel scuffs and other difficult stains from finished leather.

I've had good success with WD-40 on leather seats. No discoloration on my wife's Chrysler van seats.

I think it also depends on the base of the ink, water or solvent.

I tried some "new" (non-aerosol) hairspray. It got about 50% of the ink out. It's still noticeable. Oh well. We'lls ee about a nifty leather cleaner or the 3003 stuff.

or maybe I need to go out of state and smuggle in a can of aerosol-based hairspray - I think it is the propellant that takes the stain out not the hairspray itself (though it may be a combo of the alcohol and the propellant)
