Im still looking for something good and long lasting. Currently, on my well maintained trim, UPGP works fine but im always looking for something better.
BTW, how did you come to the conclusion about the solvents? Smell? Did it remove old wax or something?

UTTGP is the best, longest lasting trim protector around in my experience. No streaking when it rains, two coats will last 6 months.
What you need is trim that is in good shape, though, because it does not stain or blacken the trim. It just maintains its original appearance.
Black Wow and Back to Black are stains that are best for trim that is really oxidized and white or faded.
The question is - how will UTTGP work over BW or BTB? Probably not well, but who knows until someone tries.
EDIT: quoted the wrong post above, but you all get the drift. As for solvents, I apply it carefully as it will remove wax around the trim but it does not seem to remove UPGP.
It lasts 6 months or so, and I strip my car down and start from scratch every 6 months, so that is when I put the UTTGP on.

Remember BW is not just a protectant. It is a cleaner which is designed to remove wax from black plastic trim while also providing long lasting protection. I use BW on my Mini which has a lot of textured plastic trim and it works well, looks good and lasts a long time. Not the easiest trim cleaner/protectant to use but I believe it's worth the little extra work.
The only "problem" I've found is that it can attract dust and lint after you apply it to the trim. However this is totally mitigated after the first washing. If you let BW "soak" into the plastic trim, rather than wiping it off after application it seems to enhance its durability.

This is probably the most accurate description in describing this product. I have used just about every trim dressing out there including Black Wow. This is the only trim product that I have used that actually causes water to bead on plastics for me.
I have used it in the marine environment for at least the last 3 years. I have tested it on the black rub rail of my boat that sits in the water from May through Sept. No other trim product has the durability that UTTGP has.
