Has anyone used wool with PC7424

I was thinking of adding some wool pads to my foam pad collection. Not sure if the wool pad would work on a PC. Would it be more or less dangerous than wool and a rotary? Is it even worth trying?

As Danase said..its horrible..I tried a wool pad a few years back on a PC...and it was a nightmare...Wool is made more for a rotary motion than a random orbit motion....

I too was disappointed with wool pads on the PC. I used them with 3M PI-II FCRC on Audi clear...more micromarring than LC yellow cutting pads but only a *tiny* bit more correction. Wasn't worth the trade-off. Much better to use 4" cutting pads IME.

Here is a before and after on a volvo with a wool bonnet. This is with OHC on wool.

What products did you use?

Do you mean other than OHC? The wool bonnet I believe was from home depot. Maybe walmart. I put the bonnet over a low profile 5" LC orange pad.

I will give the foamed wool pads, Menzerna PO85RD3.02 and my TopTool a try next week since my friend had good results with this combintation.

But this is not a PC more like a Cyclo on steroids.

My bad...I meant did you just finish with OHC or did you do another step?

The 2nd pic is just after OHC and the wool. I did finish with poly-seal.

Are you talking about tufted/woven wool or sheepskin? Can you post a pic of the bonnet?

PC.

Don't think it has tufts. Don't have any pics. Its just a slip on wool bonnet.

Sounds like a synthetic to me and bound to mar like crazy.

If they can give a syn the smell of wool I guess so? I don't know what to tell you. The OP asked if it was possible and I said it is. I didn't know there would be this much scrutiny. It worked for me with no extra maring. I couldn't get that scratch out with an LC yellow and OHC so tried the bonnet and it worked. Worked well!

I've *never* seen a slip on that is actually made of wool. You say it's possible and then post pictures that show absolutely nothing to support it. Sorry but in my experience the two are a bad combination.

Ok fine real wool or not it worked. Sorry how do my pics not support it?

You have a picture taken with a flash that shows the defects in the paint and then a picture (which doesn't appear to be the same panel) taken with no direct lighting and presumable after additional steps of polishing. Am I wrong?
