Has anyone used Platinum UPP?

Tim from Tacscar seems to love it, but I have not been able to find anyone here who has actually tried it.

I want to try it, but do not want to waste money if it is not a good product. If I do not go with that, I will most likely get Klasse.

Has anyone used it?

If so can anyone post picture to show what a car looks like with it on it.

Thanks

ps UPP stands for Ultimate Paint Protection

I think you will have VERY comparable results between Platinum and Blackfire products. Check out whichever is cheaper . . .

Edit: Oh, I'm getting samples soon! And I already have BF . . . if they come soon enough I'll BS...er...BF some of a car and Platinum part.

Im doing a friends porsche this week, so I was debating which one to get, Klasse or Platinum but I think Klasse will be better just because he never washs his car(I kno, blasphemy).

I will have it for a few days so I will:

dawn wash

clay

SMR(if needed, will most likely be needed)

Dawn wash again to get any oils/fillers off

Then do I need to AIO it?(if so how many coats)

and then SG(how many coats would u suggest, and how many per day?

Somewhere in all that I will do the wheels, interior, convertible top, engine etc.

Depending what people say, I may try Platinum on either my M5 or 328i since they are waxed regularily, I don't really care about durability, just looks.

Hi Jademonkey,

What color is your M5 or 328I? That will depend on what products will give you that shine your looking for. If shine is all your after then I would go with Klasse or Platinum/Blackfire and top it off with a quality wax as a topper such as One Grand Blitz Wax or Pinnacle Paste Glaz (light colored cars) or Pinnacle Souveran (dark colored cars). I have a silver car and prefer the Zaino look as a personal preference. I like the shine and durability it offers. I wash my car every 7-10 days and in between washes use the Zaino quick detaier. I usually add another layer of Z2 or Z5 every 4-6 weeks. This is after already having applied 4 layers combination of Z2/Z5.

I have used Klasse in the past and also like that line but found that the Zaino application was easier to work with. If you use SMR I think you could skip AIO and go straight to the SG. I had 3 layers of SG before I topped it off with one of my favorite waxes. This gave me the shine and durability. However, I had to rewax the car every 6-8 weeks depending how the paint felt after washes. So basically I played it by ear. If you go with a wax topper than you should invest in a quality quick detailer with wax content to help prolong/replenish the wax on your car. It is true that there are car wash shampoos out there that don't strip wax off your car but if it is your daily driver then the environmental factors will either strip or evaporate the wax off your vehicle. So it is safe to say that you will be applying a wax coat every 6-8 weeks. I hope this helps.

M5 is Oxford Green(dark green) and 328i is a dark blue.

The Porsche that I will be doing is silver.

I currently use Souveran on both cars.

Would the souveran still look good overtop of the Klasse on the silver car?

Or should i pick up meg #26(only decent wax I can get locally)

Hi Jademonkey,

The Souveran should be fine but it was really made for darker colored cars like your M5 and 328I. I have also used Souveran as a topper on Klasse and the results were good. If money is not a problem, I would stick with Souveran. If your budget minded then I would recommend either the Pinnacle Paste Glaz, P21S, or One Grand Blitz Wax. Out of the three I just mentioned, One Grand Blitz Wax will offer you a great shine and durability and not to mention it wouldn't put a hole in your pocket...:) However, the only drawback I have had and others here on this forum is that OG Blitz Wax does leave a white stain on your rubber and vinyl moldings if you have any. The best thing to do would be to use painters tape and tape along the edges of the moldings so you it doesn't stain it. Pinacle Paste Glaz and P21S is great because they both go on like Souveran but are usually recommended for lighter color cars like silver, white but are not as durable as OG Blitz Wax. I have tried all of these products personally and have to say they all work great. Never tried the meg #26 but did hear good things about that one too. Out of all the waxes you can find at your local auto store from what I have heard from fellow Autopians, I would say try the Meg #26. You might like the results and like you said you can find it locally.

Take care & Aloha,

~Ranney
