Has anyone used 3M Fill 'n Glaze 05976?

Has anyone here used 3M Fill 'n Glaze (05976)? I'm talking about the old pink stuff. It's discontinued, but I recently found a couple gallons of old stock at a local store. I know most of the time we all want to avoid using fillers as a crutch, but sometimes it makes sense; e.g. when the paint is too thin to polish, when the car's a beater that's simply not worth that much effort but you still want a nice appearance, etc.

I'd love to have some to use on occasion, but the place I found it only has gallon sizes (2) and it's $40 each. Maybe if someone was interested on going in on it with me I could buy a gallon just keep a quart or so for myself. I wonder how long it will keep? It's a little separated in the jug at the store, but when I shook it, it seemed to mix together pretty well.

I was hoping someone would reply to this, as I may be interested in going in on it....

I have an older car on which I need to use a product with heavy fillers. I realize that is not the "autopian way", but this car was scratched extensively (probably during washing) by a previous owner. The paint is already thin (burned through in spots), and I want to avoid a repaint.... but in the meantime I want it to look as good as possible.

Are there any other recommendations for glazes (or other products) with heavy fillers?

Thanks!

Well, PM me if you decide to give it a shot. That goes for anyone else that's interested. For one thing, especially on older cars, I'd love to have a bit of this for scratches you have to work by hand around door handles. Often the most scratched part of a car and impossible to get a machine on there to polish.

Check my post from 2002. Do a search on 05977. Its the 1 quart bottle comparable number. What goes round comes around.

Yeah...plugged this this into Google and got: 3Mâ„¢ Fill 'N Glaze 05977, Quart, 12 per case, Obsolete - from the 3M U.S. web site.

I have some IHG from about 6 years ago that was separated, a quick shake and when applied all seemed well.

My local Car Quest has a quart of the stuff as of today. If anybody wants it let me know and I'll see how much they want.
