Has anyone tried the edge pad system on a rotory?

I was wondering if anyone has tried the new edge system pads on their rotory. I love the concept of having a wool on one side and a foam on the other.

I used the presta buffing pads years ago and noticed they were the edge buffing pads and they were excellent and top quality. I have not used the new lock and click system yet and I will order it very soon. I just wanted to know how you guys like the system so far?

Thanks

Ryan

I like it .... pads are perfectly centered each time with no effort, can work edges of pad into tight spots, pads are available in different sizes, waffle or flat .... good system if yo ask me.

I'd second the above and the fact you can use any size on the rotary it a plus if it's a large flat surface i brake out the 8 inch pads if i need to get in to tiny areas the 6 or 4 inch come out ..

and the faom is the softest on the polishing and finishing pads

I'm still using LC 6.5" pads from my PC, I'd love to upgrade to Edge for my Makita. Question - do you prefer the waffle over the flat - I'm looking at the 8" ones.

I was checking the system out at the Edge display at the Atuo Geek Fest today and it looks really nice. They claim that this 2 sided style of pad is cheaper than buying 2 individual pads. The only thing that I don't really like is not being able label/write down what product the pad is dedicated for. I don't like to mix different products on the same pad in fear of contamination, but I could work through it.

They really do have a great system and I love the fact that they have the different style wools also. I do a lot of extremely hard clears in bad shape and the black pad will come in handy for perfect preps. Then flip it over to the finish foam and it will be swirl free.

Best part is I use Presta polishes and compounds a lot and the pads are color coded for there polishes. The edge is a part of the Presta polish system.

I am gonna order some this week for sure!

Maybe you could write on the edges of the pads; that's what I do on my Cyclo ones.

I don't have a rotary, but I have a yellow Edge pad for a rotary. I got it by accident when Aaron from Edge sent me a rotary pad rather than a DA pad.

With that said, the foam seems more workable and plyable than the DA pads.

I use the new System One buffer pad which is (I think) made by Edge (3m). Mine is a screw on rather than the older style. Works fantastic with System One X3 cutting polish. Haven't used it with any other products.

Interesting for this to come up. I still have a bunch of edge wool and edge foam pads. Autogeek seems to be out of a lot of the edge stuff, not sure if it has to do with the 3M acquisition or what?

YEH finally some presta fans....I have been using their products over 15 years now....I threw:bounce all the other I dont want to mention, in the garbage. Presta pads recreate the surfaces if you apply the right rejuvenating material with the correct pad. Paintxpert. I agree the color system is also superior.:bounce

This is a great time to mention that the ZAINO SIX quick detailer is also a SUPERIOR PRODUCT. I keep a case of ZAINO 6 in stock and tell my clients to use it in between details. Its great after washing the vehicle for people who know NOTHING about detailing. They always come back for more.
