I was in the body shop supply store the other day, and apparently in late 2013, 3M came with an updated compound in the perfect it series called perfect it ex. The product number is 36060.

I've searched around for some reviews, but have found little to nothing. Anyone tried it?

No reviews in the store yet either. I may give this stuff a try. 3M can make some really good products and my guess is they developed this stuff to compete with Meguairs ultra popular compounds. I doubt this stuff will be the answer to anything, but I wouldn't underestimate new products on the 3M perfect line.

I don't know why most body shops still use 3M compounds and polishes, they must have a really good rep force. There are much better products available, but hey - keeps me busy fixing bodyshop repaired cars!

Most body shops around here in Philadelphia don't use Mcguaires or any of those types of suppliers mainly because they don't offer quick and economical bulk availability.

Also, many of the good body shops finish phenomenally with 3M products. I wouldn't underestimate 3M. Their ultrafine Polish is still one of my favorites. They have the cash and the research capabilities to give any of these smaller companies a run for their money. That's primarily why I am interested in this new compound. I'm thinking they came up with it to compete with M105 and the others.
