Has anyone degreased the engine of a BMW 335i?

Is there anything I need to cover up or any "gotchas" I need watch out for? I've never degreased an engine before. I don't want to mess up anything. Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks.
 
Hey Joey, allow me to welcome you to the forum!
